• The obvious: for starters, we won't constantly call you the "bride and groom".
• Doing things your way: our wedding checklist automatically changes as you make decisions. For example, we won't automatically give you a bunch of tasks related to your "bridesmaids' gowns" and tell you to rent tuxedos for your "groomsmen". Instead, the program asks whether your attendants will be wearing traditionally male attire or traditionally female attire (or both). It then automatically adds the appropriate tasks to the list based on your answer. This doesn't just go for attire, either: throughout the wedding checklist, there are places for you to tell the software how you'd like to do things — then it helps you do them your way.
• Acknowledging same-sex couples: if you're going to issue formal invitations, The Organized Wedding can automatically put the correct, formal version of your guests' names and titles on their invitation envelopes. This would be a great feature, even if you were having a straight wedding — whether your guests are "Mr. and Mrs." or judges and ambassadors, we can handle it. The good news for you in particular is that if you have same-sex married couples on your guest list, we can automatically handle the correct etiquette for them, too. The difference on the envelopes is small — but you know how important something small can be, if it acknowledges the most important relationship in your life.

• Wording your invitations and announcements: If you don’t already know how you want to word your invitations and other correspondence (announcements, reception cards, etc.), The Organized Wedding can help. It has the logic from several complete etiquette references coded into its “mind”, and it can figure out the formal wording for a lot of different situations – from “How do invitations read when issued by the couple?” to “How do formal postponements read when issued by the parents of one partner, when the postponement is due to the illness of the other partner?” OK, so you’re probably not going to run into that last case. We hope. The point is that for a lot of situations, the software can figure out the etiquette for you – automatically.
