About us

The Organized Wedding (originally named The Wedding Planner for Us) got its start in 2001 when we planned our own wedding. None of the software we tried could do what we needed. One program didn't seem to do anything at all! (It's no longer on the market, by the way.)

We bought one of the planning books at a bookstore, but the bride half of The Organized Wedding refused to carry it into work — it was big, awkward, and — well, awfully pink. She doesn't do pink.

We finally resorted to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (three of them), Microsoft Word file-merges to address envelopes, an etiquette book to help us figure out how to address the envelopes, and 15 pages of hand-written checklists, along with appointments and yet more lists in a hand-held PDA.

We knew there had to be a better way, and with 15 years each in the computer industry, we knew we could design and develop the "better way" ourselves. We hope you think it's better, too.
