Views discussed: Monthly, Weekly, Daily
The three views that deal with appointments ("Daily", "Weekly",
and "Monthly", under "Appointments" near the top
of the left-hand menu) are quite straightforward: you click the "Add" button
to add an appointment (or double-click in a blank area where you want
an appointment added), you click "Edit" to change an appointment
(or double-click the appointment you want to change), and you drag them
around with the mouse to rearrange them in any way you'd like. There
are only a few more things you should know to get the most out of these
views.
- You can use the "Daily" view to organize complex schedules
in addition to appointments for yourself. If multiple appointments
overlap in time, they'll automatically arrange themselves into non-conflicting
columns, so you can use this view to organize complex schedules --
things like when wedding party members and vendors are arriving and
leaving on complicated days.
- You can drag appointments (which are blue) around with the mouse,
but you can't drag or edit events (which are green). Rescheduling
an event has major consequences, so it isn't something you can
do with just a drag-and-drop of the mouse. To reschedule an event,
go to "Clients & Events" in
the left-hand menu, then double-click the client whose event you would
like to reschedule. Once the "Client" window is open, click
the tab labeled "Event List" (visible at the top of the
window), and you can reschedule the event there.
- You can drag appointments to places you wouldn't have guessed.
For example, if you're in the monthly view you can drag an appointment
to the list of months at the top (to reschedule to a different
month), or onto the "Today" button (to reschedule to today's date).
Likewise, on the weekly and daily views, you can drag appointments
to the small calendar to change days (or months, if you drag to the
list of months).
