6 to 9 months before the wedding:
Decide what color scheme, if any, you want to use. |

Research transportation vendors and select one for the Wedding & Reception. |

Consolidate all the guest lists and decide on the final list for the wedding and reception. |
Bride: If you are ordering a gown, order it now. |
Decide whether to register for gifts, and if so, where. |
Start planning your honeymoon. |
Interview several bakers, and select one. |
Decide what kind of cake, frosting, and cake decoration you want for the Reception, and order it. |

Decide what you want the bridesmaids and maid of honor to wear. |
Either collect the bridesmaids' measurements and order/buy/make/rent the outfits or give the bridesmaids the information they need to get the outfits themselves. |

Decide whether to write a prenuptial agreement, and if so, start researching and writing it. |
Pick a design for your invitations, finalize the wording (and map or other artwork, if necessary), and order your invitations (and announcements if you plan to send them). |
If you decided to register for gifts, start registering. |
